This pages will set a ongoing tone for the rest of your website and its pages, including a music player with your best tracks, band images, etc.

Be sure to include a popup so that people can join your mailing list. This can be done a number of creative ways.

Add your social media links to the header of the page so visitors can easy find them and engage with you on these platforms.

Your next step is your About page (or Bio page). This is an important place for potential new fans to get to know who you are and accomplishments. It’s also a great area for media and music industry contacts to read about you and your story.

You can extend this page to use it within different areas of the industry. You may include several versions of your bio on this page which use can be geared towards record labels, media outlets, conferences, and festivals. This is also a perfect place to add a different professional photos of your band.

Having a sitewide music player or embedding a player on your homepage isn’t enough. Your website is your main home online. Your potential fans should be able to find your music, and album info on your website.

Dedicate a page to all things music, then arrange it properly so that your music is easy to find and listen to. Don’t forget to include some context about your music. Given them options to listen and BUY.

Selling on your own website is the absolute best way to make money.

Selling merch directly to your fans means you get to keep the money. You also get their email addresses to keep in touch with those fans.

Keep your store page organized and set up your products with featured images. Describe each item, explaining why your fans will love it.

Be sure to add a clear way to contact you on this page. Typically this is done with a contact form at the bottom of the page.

Fans love to look at photos of their favorite bands. Including a photo page will help to keep fans browsing your website longer. This is also a good opportunity to highlight your personality, and to show that you’re an active musician.

To assist you in organizing your photos, you may create different galleries which will highlight your promo shots, live shows, studio photos, and/or musical collaborations.

Your main goal is to keep visitors on your website for as long as possible. Instead of directing them off your site to YouTube, focus their attention on your website to view videos. Embedded them into your website. This allows you to maintain control on which videos people see, giving you the maximum control on how your band is represented online.

It’s important to post your most recent or most popular videos at the top of your videos page, and rotate these regularly to keep the content fresh.

Information to be included within your EPK:

Bio: Media and venues have different needs for bios, so it’s a good idea to include a short and a long version of your bio. That way, they can easily use the bio that works for them.

Photos: Include your professional promo photos. Be sure to give them vertical and horizontal options. You can also include your album cover artwork for music reviewers.

Music: Have your latest music available to listen to. This can be easily integrated to stream directly from your website. Do not use link to Spotify, Apple Music, etc. as this will direct them away from your website. In case a radio programmer or media outlet wants to download your music, include clear information on how they can contact you to get a copy.

Contact: Include detailed information on how they can get in touch with you, your publicist, radio promotion firm, record label, management firm, or booking agent. You can also add your social media links so booking agents and media can quickly check out your social profiles.
