ReLoVe Receives Accolades AT 2021 New Music Awards
Los Angeles based retro-pop band ReLoVe has been selected as an Official Nominee at the 2021 New Music Awards in the ‘AC New Group of the Year’ category. With over 122K+ streams on Spotify, ReLoVe climbed up the AC/HOT Up & Coming commercial radio charts last Nov. and reached #23 on the AC Indie Music Singles charts.
Currently, ReLoVe will be releasing their new single in Feb. 2021 called ‘Disposable World’ throughout all the great unknown digital outlets filled with algorithms and agendas. The new 7-song collection digs much deeper, both musically and lyrically, than their previous pop-centered and smiley ‘Music on a Mission!’ EP released in 2019 on AWAL Records.
Always prompting the questions that need to be asked, Glenn Jost’s vocals and lyrics keep challenging the complex socio-spiritual reality we all share, called the present tense. Jost wrote the songs and organically tracked all drums and acoustic guitars in December 2020 with bandmate producer Victor Bender. Hussain Jiffry (Herb Alpert) laid down the serious bass guitar grooves, while multi-instrumentalist Bender produced and filled in all the keyboards and electric guitars. The brilliant icing on the cake comes from the newly added violin virtuoso and opera singer Leah Zeger (Hans Zimmer), who takes the music to a higher, more sophisticated place merging the song elements of country funk, reggae soul, and bubblegum retro-pop effortlessly together as one.
About ReLoVe
ReLoVe is not just a band but a way of life, sharing a message of hope to a divided planet. Emerging from the volatile city of Los Angeles with a roster of multicultural musicians, they aim to not only entertain through their gloriously summery retro-pop and reggae soul gems, but also to give back to the poorest communities where they perform. Led by their ebullient drummer and vocalist Glenn Jost, ReLoVe combines a 60’s bubblegum soul-pop joy, with a heart-felt desire to make a positive difference.
Skope Magazine writes, “ReLoVe’s Shining Through’ is reminiscent of Musical Youths Pass the Dutchie, from 1982. It’s a simple, joyful celebration of love that intentionally focuses on the positive. A person’s attitude is dependent upon ones perspective. In other words, what you see is predicated on where you look, and how you perceive. In this case, ReLoVe has chosen to focus its vision on the clear and present love emanating from one person to another, or even a higher place.
